This is precisely the moment where the grassroots agitation translated into physical clashes with contractors, their private security and later with the gendarmerie and police forces. 

This, in turn, amplified the agitation of urban-based movements, delocalizing rural movements to include cities wherein spaces of dissensus were produced. The most spectacular of all was Istanbul downtown’s Gezi Park.
